Technical Triage
The technical triage process works in the following way.
Equipment is installed in a consenting patient's home, and the patient is trained to be able to take regular readings. Typically their home monitor is programmed to come on at certain times of the day.
Once the patient has taken their readings and answered their questions the readings are sent to a secure server where Alere's nurses can review their readings.
The nurses work from a traffic light system in order to review patient readings.
Red means that a reading or question exceeds predefined limits.
Amber means that a reading is overdue or has not been received.
Green means that a reading has been taken and is within predefined limits.
Our nurses review all readings and take actions to ensure all required readings are received, and that those outside the predetermined limits are confirmed, typically by requesting a retest, through assistance with measuring technique, and ultimately if an outside limits reading is genuine, by taking follow up action.
